Storage solutions...
I was wondering how those of you w/o garages kept your trucks safe from the elements. Im trying to find a good soulution for storing my truck. When i 1st got my truck i just kept it outside under a car cover ($250 one from california car compnay and made for my truck specifically) Well i live in a windy area sometimes cuz im on the coast and the cover rubbed my paint dull in a few spots and i had to have that buffed out. So then i got a car capsule..worked great for a year, kept wind and elements off the truck but at the 1 year mark its gave out and cracked all over and is useless now. So im in a dilemma, im thinking about using one of those portable shelters that pepboys sells for like $200. Anyone have any experiance with these, hold up well to wind?

Re: Storage solutions...
I just wash mine every week.
You could make those cheapie tents somewhat stand up to high winds. Very high winds tear and bend them though. |

Re: Storage solutions...
I guess it depends on how much you want to spend.
You can get a nice *strong* car port for around $500 bux. Harbor Freight Tools There are some options. |

Re: Storage solutions...
i got one of them shelter things from pep boys...if you dont tie it down you will lose it...with little winds mine shifted all over the place...and last night we had some high winds so i went out and i secured it down to the fence around it...and today we got higher winds and rain and it was fine...not sure how crazy high winds would effect it...but we shall see

Re: Storage solutions...
Thanks for the replies so far guys, yeah i know you cant be cheap for good storage, hell i spent $500 for the car capsule i bought but now its toast after only one year. So thats why i started this so i can see what you guys are using and how well it has worked out. Orangesonoma thanks for the info..i might be trying one of those not sure yet though as the area i have to keep it on one side is concrete and i would have a way to anchor it easily. I wish my car cover that i had custom made for the truck didnt rub my paint like it did..that was an easy way to keep it stored..but that to failed me.

Re: Storage solutions...
Good to know...thats what im looking for..i live in virginia beach and im 1 miles from the coast so we get those nasty noreasters and hurricanes and i need something good. How to you have yours anchored? With stakes or is it just tied to things around it like you said above?

Re: Storage solutions...
i have it ratched strapped to the fence poles in like 4 places....but i am sure with a good powerfull wind something is going to give....now the box recommends vents to put in the sides...i may look into these...
