Steam Cleaners-Engine
My father in law uses a steam cleaner at his shop to clean engines and says it works very well. Problem is finding where to get a decent one at a decent price. Anyone here use a steam cleaner for this purpose? If so, know where to get one? I've seen them on those late night infomercials.

Ya I read that post. But I've been told that the degreasers damage the paint finish, with that being said, there is always some overspray.

Re: Steam Cleaners-Engine
well i just used a steam cleaner for the first time today.. i used it to clean tools and it worked well but not GREAT. i tried cleaning around in my engine bay but it really doesnt help much. my dad got the steam cleaner a while ago from sears. dont know how much it cost but im sure its not top of the line. on the box it shos people using it on cars, carpets, blinds, BBQ's etc it has a few attachments for these purposes. i wouldnt suggest it for engine bay cleaning. just try not to get degreaser on your paint.

Re: Steam Cleaners-Engine
its fine to get degreaser on your paint
just wash it well after and wax it, it'll be fine dont let it sit on your paint though |
