Re: smelly cab

I got my 99 s10 from an auction and had the same thing. One day I just got fed up with all the brown interior, so I stripped everything out. When I got to the vinyl flooring, I could smell exactly what your talking about. There are a couple hole along the floor, underneath the carpet that do get wet when it's driven in the rain, so if it got wet once, it would probly stay wet for a long time and possibly mold. Now that I have it out, my truck doesnt smell or anything

Re: smelly cab

I had the same exact problem until one day when I noticed that the carpet was discoloring in the x-cab, and knew there was a leak. It was still under warranty so I had them change out the carpet and the insulation.

Re: smelly cab

i had a problem with smell, and when I was installing an amp I removed a panel along the bottom of the door to discover that there was mold growing under it. I just used a carpet scrubber and that did the job.

Re: smelly cab

We use a product called air sponge in out truck and boat etc. It's 5X better then febreeze

They have a odor absorber container you can keep behind the seat as well as a spray to spray the air and cloth/carpets etc.. This is basically the same odor absorber that they use in hospitals and ambulances etc.
it works great.
Our boat always smells musty after takin out of storage but this stuff cleanes it right up.

Re: smelly cab

If you ever spill anything in your truck be sure to replace the padding underneath where the spill was at. It's like a sponge and shit will just sit under there and rot.

Re: smelly cab

I've got a bad smell in my truck... found out it was mold... I did a blow thru last winter, and never got that rubber gasket to go between the bed and cab... ended up with mold on the inside of my sub box.... the box fell apart in my hands when i pulled it out cuz it was so wet.

Re: smelly cab

enzyme cleaners actually neutralize the bacterias instead of covering them up but test a place before you spray it make sure u test in an area that wont be seen to see if the cleaner will discolor the material
