Re: Slickest wax out there?
Zaino
Nice thing is you can apply it and work on something else in cure cycles (i'm in a cooler climate). wipes away very easily, no heavy residue. Takes far less effort than anything else I've tried, yet it had a deeper finish and that "slick" feel you want. just make sure whatever you use, you clay bar first. good wax/sealer won't hide rough contaminated paint. |

But you have to remember that the prep stage is more important. Last edited by black4.3 : 02-21-2006 at 09:15 PM. |

Re: Slickest wax out there?
Thats after trying out Zaino's polish, then 3 Layers Z2pro...topped with Z8 Full Detail, LSP (last step product)- Poorboys Nattys Blue Caranuba Its all a matter of personal opinion...zaino is the popular answer because of the "hype" on car forums. But visit a detailers forum like autopia.org for some differing opinions. Last edited by dropped1 : 02-22-2006 at 03:12 AM. |

Re: Slickest wax out there?
Ive used almost every major wax out there. By far the Dupont Teflon wax is the best. The spray wax sucks, but the liquid is the sh**. Apply by hand, and buff out to a deep glossy shine. I use it on my black dime, and its awesome. Alot of my customers also say it keeps their car cleaner longer with the teflon in it. Dirt cant stick, they also carry a line of wheel polish/cleaner. They work wonders as well. Hows that for a plug? lol

Re: Slickest wax out there?
The Truth About Teflon™
by Stephen Grisanti According to G.R. Ansul of Du Pont's car care products, speciality products division - "The addition of a Teflon™ fluoropolymer resin does nothing to enhance the properties of a car wax." "We have no data that indicates the use of Teflon™ fluoropolymer resin is beneficial in car waxes, and we have not seen data from other people that supports this position." Ansul also notes that, "Unless Teflon™ is applied at 700 degrees F, it is not a viable ingredient, and it is 100 percent useless in protecting the paint's finish." By Stephen Grisanti, for the Professional Car-Washing & Detailing Magazine, USA. Stephen Gisanti, with 26 years of detailing experience, is the founder and president of Classic Shine Auto Fitment Centers in Greenwich, CT, USA. He established a franchising operation in 1986. |

Re: Slickest wax out there?
If you want a great reflective long lasting wax use Meguiers #26 yellow Carnuba Wax. I have a black truck and when im done with it its dripping!! Rule of thumb is if you can buy it at a regular parts store (Avanced, Auto Zone, Pep Boys etc.) it ain't worth a shit.

Re: Slickest wax out there?
Nothing beats the depth of a caranuba, but most synthetic sealants last longer and have better reflectivity. I personally use both, depending on who's vehicle it is etc. |

Re: Slickest wax out there?
Four Star UPP does leave a very slick fnish, but there are plenty of other great products too. Who gives a chit about how smooth the paint is after waxing, I'd be more concerned about durability and how the paint looks after a final inspection. I'm a HUGE fan of Autopride Longevity sealant, IMHO it leaes an unbeatable shine on any color, even on darker colors. It's extremely easy to apply and just as easy to remove. Here's a 4-runner I regularly clean up after just one coat
![]() ![]() Pretty damn wet for a synthetic if you ask me ![]() And a so-so shot of my dads new 06 HD ![]() I topped the truck off with a third coat of Longevity and a coat of #26, and I even spent 30 min polishing the stock tailpipe to look like a stainless tip, you should see it now ![]() Forget about slickness, find a wax that gives you the look you want, then you've got a good product |
