side trim removal

im working on getting the rub strips off the sides of my first gen. etting the plastics off with a heat gun.

what im running into is that freaking foam tape. its all over the truck. any easy way to get it off without destroying the paint? i was trying a plastic putty knife and a heat gun. that didnt work.

so, any easy way of doing it?
