Shoe polish

What can I use to take Shoe polish off of my window other than a razor blade? I would rather use a chemical than risk scratching the window.

Re: Shoe polish

razor blade wont scratch your window unless your pressing down too hard. the glass cleaner more or less lubricates the razor and glides it across your window without too much damage. i use it on mine atleast once every 2 weeks to make sure they stay crispy clean 8-)

Re: Shoe polish

you won't scratch it with a blade. just dont press down. let it glide to remove the polish or go get some xylene. but don't get it on the paint cause it will mess it up

Re: Shoe polish

From "How Stuff Works"
http://home.howstuffworks.com/how-to...ish-stains.htm

Quote:
How to Remove Shoe Polish Stains From:
Acrylic Plastic, Aluminum, Asphalt,
Ceramic Glass/Tile, Chromium, Enamel,
Glass, Gold, Ivory, Jade, Paint (flat
or gloss), Platinum, Plexiglas,
Polyurethane, Silver, Stainless Steel,
Vinyl Clothing, Vinyl Wallcovering

Wipe the surface with a cloth or sponge dipped in warm sudsy water to which a few drops of ammonia have been added. Rinse well with clear water and wipe dry.
Hope this helps.

Re: Shoe polish

why is their shoe polish on your window? Sorry, I have to ask, I can't figure out how someone gets shoe polish on their pickup windows.

Re: Shoe polish

at work we just do the windex with a razor just keep it wet and i've never scratched a customer's windows. just make sure the razor is new and not dull as hell and it should just go right over the stuff and you don't even have to do much work
