Question rust spots?

i was washing my car today and i notice around the wheel wells and the lower parts of the body there were little black and orange (what looked like rust) dots that arent too noticeable from a few feet away but when u look up close its really noticable

Re: rust spots?

Where do you live? Is their salt on the roads or in the air? Are they rock chips? Do you see any grey primer around there? You might want to try a Mother's clay bar to get any particles out of your paint or a cleaner-wax. Just throwing out useless ideas.

Clay bar followed by a paint cleanser. Then polish and wax

The condition is most likely industrial fallout. Particles of iron & other metals in teh air come to rest on painted surfaces & begin to oxidize. Purchasing a clay bar & a good cleaner wax will help remove the spots. The key is to remove them as soon as possible. The oxidization that occurs can cause havoc on your clearcoat.....

As others have mentioned, Mother's makes a good clay bar, and Meguiars has an excellent cleaner wax that will help seal from contaminants.
