Rims got some tar on emm...HELP!

I got lil spots of black tar that wont come the **** off. I wana use that Zoop Seal shit,but need the tar of first any advice from you detailers?

What kind of wheels are they? i'll assume they are polished aluminum since you mentioned the zoop seal, try a polishing or rubbing compound, start with the white then try the rust colored one (more abrasive) for small stuborn spots like that i use a dremel with a small polishing buff. The eastwood company has a very good selection of both compounds and buffs.

try a claybar, then some mother's billet polish in the little glass jar, that should do it

i worked at a detailing company (2 actually) thru my summers off from college. and we used kerosene on tar along the rockers. i DO NOT KNOW how this will react on billet!!! it may or may not be billet friendly. but on paint....it melts tar right off. of course we washed it right afterwards.

Ya gotta polish them before you Zoop em so just use (insert your favorite polish here) and you should be good to go.

I would recommend using a little gasoline on a rag and it should come off since the gas will blend with the tar. Dont light it though, LOL! I would also keep a bucket of soapy water handy to get the gas residue off the rim so it doesnt damage it.
