Restoring faded headlights

I've tried the search option and found nothing. A while back there was a thread on how to clean up yellow-ish headlights any info?

Re: Restoring faded headlights

the auto media link is bs,...

the meguiars holds some ground....

the best thing to do is to go by a major car lot and talk to a GM and get the contact information for a vendor that specializes in H/L restoration. my dad and i have been doing it for about 3 years. I charge a customer $50 bucks for a pair of lights, and 90% of all are fixable. i go through the 4 sanding stages, the power buffing, then i double UV coat it. i have chemicals that are very hard to find you can only get with a buiz licence, that are specificly for this type of work.

that would be your best bet. the autozone and local do it yourself kits are bs entirly....

if you need more info pm me.

Re: Restoring faded headlights

if you talking about sealed beams, they are 20 bucks new versus 30 for meguirs kit...go buy them. if you talking about 98 + then buy the meguirs kit

Re: Restoring faded headlights

the ones I've done I started with 1000, 1500, 2000 then used the plasticx and got good results compared to the new headlight on the other side.

Re: Restoring faded headlights

well your not going to get shit for results unless you WETSAND!! (unless there is very minor fading)

here is my thread i did about dull/yellow headlights.
http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f74/wo...e-pics-292410/

of course the stuff i used is Blue magic metal polish . I stand by this stuff 100,000% and you can pick it up at autozone for about $5.

I wouldn't worry about them fading over time, well eventually but a YEAR later and mine still look like this. the blue magic polish leaves a silicone protective finish (though i have no idea how long it lasts).

from google, i didnt use the polishing compounds they did, i just used the blue magic.

hope this helps, if you have ANY questions just pm me or ask.
