Repaired a scratch, how to I make it blend in?

So I had a roughly 2" square scratch on the tailgate. I got the correct color spray paint and clearcoat and finished that yesterday. Matches fairly well, but you can still see the edges that were taped off. And the paint is a little faded after 9 years. Is there a good buffing compound or something to make this blend in? Do I just polish it, or do I have to wetsand it? Thanks

I got some dupont touch up paint with a PEN tip. Worked really good for small chips and thin scratches. well recommended for quick touch ups for only 3 bucks and some change.

taoing lines are almost impossible to blend , should have just blended the paint and not taped it ,,GOOOD LUCK

if its just in the clear you can colorsand and buff but if its all the way through take it down with 400 until the scratch is gone and then feather the edges out. scuff up the clear on the whole gate with 400. then when u spray base just hit the area that needs it and do some overlap onto the surrounding area. with each coat spread it out more. so like 6-10" radius around the scratch. and then reclear the whole thing

Thanks for the help guys. I'll try and sand it out then. What do you mean by color sand? Is that wet?
