Re: removing the chevy decal...

did you try running fishing line or dental floss behind it while heating it up?

Re: removing the chevy decal...

I had the dealer logos on my tailgate. I am not sure if the factory is vinyl like the dealer logos but if it is a rubber wheel did wonders for it.

Re: removing the chevy decal...

its not a little emblem its a huge sticker i put up a picture here so you all and see what im talking about. i have seen several others with this sticker on the back and but i dont know how to get it off my truck it has wax buildup around it and i cant get the wax off so it has to go and i want to shave the tailgate soon too so it has to be gone for paint.

if your gettin it painted and shaved then just hit it with a grinder before you take it in, or have them do it when they prep it unless your doign the work yourself

I'd use a rubber wheel. And take off the dealer sticker too!

Re: removing the chevy decal...

i didn't realize you were talking about the sticker thing and not the badge. well, since you're going to be stripping the paint anyways, you could always sand it off with the rest of the paint

Re: removing the chevy decal...

Hold on, I found this killer solvent you use with a spray bottle after you peel off the decals.

I took off the side mouldings from my 01 LS and it worked awesome after I used some polishing compound after I rubber the solvent and using a heat gun.

And remember not to over do the heat gun or you will flake the paint

Adhesive Remover

It may seem like a lot of money, but it's so worth it.

Make sure you get some of those plastic razorblades they sell on there too, those are super nice with a heat gun, and they save your nails.

I bought mine off of eBay but I know Napa also carries them. If they dont have them then they can probably get some in overnight.
