removing oxidation
i want to remove oxidation off of some engine parts so i can polish them. whats the best way to do it? theres heavy oxidation and lots of small crevisses (sp) also not all the pieces are smooth, they have some texture to them? is you able to use some sore of chemical or can i get them blasted without the finish bein altered? any ideas would help. thanks

Hmmm. I pretty sure you need to clean them really good with soap and water first and then polish. The polish is what will remove the oxidation(i think) so you would not need to prep with anything other than soap and water before you polish.

Using a metal polish will help to remove any oxidation. WIll come off on the rag black. You can use a stiff bristled brush too. Try the brush w/ some wd40. Basically, there's a bunch of ways to go about it. I'd start w/ a brush and wd, then finish w/ some polish.
