removing badges

I am removing my badges but am having a hard time getting the glue off. I have tried alcohol and mothers paint cleaner. I just dont know how to get it off. I figured the alcohol would take it off. But I guess not!

Edit- Forgot to ask. How do you go about getting it off.

Re: removing badges

there is actuatly a tape removal wheel that you can put in a power drill that will not damage paint. you can pick one of these up at any automotive paint supply. i uded one the other day and i was amazed how quick it took it off and it did not hurt anything.

Re: removing badges

I used Goo-gone on mine and it worked pretty well, but now I have a ghost line where the badges used to be.

So I need to go and see if I can find an eraser wheel or try the goo gone? I'm going to try the goo gone first. I'm going to try it tomorrow!

Re: removing badges

I have done this at my old job alot, make sure you use the goo gone in a can. The spray bottle GEL type is too strong and eats away clear coat.

Re: removing badges

i like the thumb deal. when i removed mine i tried everything, i ended up letting it all dry out where i was putting shit on it. after i let it drie i used the good ole thumb, if u go that route make sure u got some pretty thick calus's on it if not it will hurt like a sob.

Yep, thank god I had a heated garage when I did it two winters ago. It helped out a ton. I had the heat cranked to like 85 degrees haha

Re: removing badges

i used turtle wax bug and tar remover and it worked well,, like said before the skin on my thumb was thrashed, i ended up getting blisters, The worst part is it was on my jeep so i had to remove the "grandcherokee limited" lables from the side stuff on the hood and trunk. It was a lot more than what was on my s10.
