polishing my billet grille

I never took my billet grille out of the truck when I moved up here to the great white north (stupid me), and it has started corroding.
I have tried Eagle 1 nano polish just because it's all I have right now, and it cleans it up, but you can still see marks from the corrosion. I usually use Mothers billet polish but I don't know if it will help in this stage. I'm thinking I may have to use some 1000-2000 grit paper and go from heavier to finer polishes.

Any ideas? all help is appreciated because I'm OCD about this kind of stuff

Re: polishing my billet grille

It's already out of the truck. I don't know, maybe im expecting too much. It won't be that noticeable if I just finish polishing it and put it back on. Maybe that is just normal wear and tear for a billet grill.

Re: polishing my billet grille

Will the 1500-2000 grit leave scratch marks too deep to get out with the Mother polish??

Re: polishing my billet grille

no it will be fine. us the 1500 then hit it with 2000 then the polish. i build small billet parts for myself all the time and polish them out this way. but i have to start with 600,800,1000.1500 then 2000. because I'm starting with raw material.
hell i did the the inside of my coddington wheels this way also, look great when done.

Re: polishing my billet grille

Try "never dull" its like a cotton material that is saturated with a polishing compound. With some elbow grease it will clean some seriously messed surfaces. I used it to clean up a bunch of corroded brass on the ship I work on. Brass-o and other cleaning chemicals wouldnt nearly make it shine like the NeverDull did. It will not leave marks on plated or billet surfaces, but dont use it on paint.
