polishing eagle 212's
I just purchased a set of 18" 212's from forum member kmams (cory) on Thursday. In the pictures he provided, the rims looked nice and clean. After I picked them up I washed them with soap and water and noticed that they didn't look very shiny and they had white water spots on them that didn't come off. Today I went to Autozone and picked up a can of Blue Magic metal polish and got to workin. I wanted to get mothers billet polish but they were all out. This stuff is awsome. All of the spots came off and there is a huge difference in the bling factor, they're so shiny now that they almost look like chrome, heck they look better than chrome. It took me about 1 1/2 hours to do all 4 wheels. So, for all of you out there looking for a good polish for your alloys, I highly recommend blue magic, and for 4 bucks a can you can't go wrong. I will post pics of the rims when I get my camera back on Monday. |

Re: polishing eagle 212's
i used both blue and mothers on my front wheels, and just the blue on the rear, mothers seems to take a little more elbow grease but stay much more shiny in the long run, both are good products though...
(still wish i got chrome, my 212's are getting polished less and less..lol) |

Re: polishing eagle 212's
i usualy use a rag to wipe it on/in with. like a little towel would be more accurate. just rub till the polish looks dirty, and then it wouldn't hurt to rub more. then you can either wipe and "buff" it off with a clean towel, or like i do, get a polishing attachment and a cordless drill. ill have to post pics sometime. you're still going to have to get the corners by hand. but i think the shine is better (and definitely quicker) with the drill method.
a dremal would be so tedious. not worth it. |

Re: polishing eagle 212's
Eastwood sells larger polishing wheels/pads to attach to a regular air-compressor style cut-off tool. That should polish in a hurry.
