Re: Polishing BIllet Wheels
I don't know about the best stuff, but I use Mothers polish and some elbow grease and my wheels come out looking damn good. I heard Zoops is a good product to use, it says it prolongs polishing for up to 2 years. Its costly though.

Re: Polishing BIllet Wheels
W/O a doubt the best is Mother's Billet Polish! Nevr used anything better. Follow up the polishing w/ a good thick wax. Polish off the wax w/ a Microfiber towel/rag. Believe it!

Re: Polishing BIllet Wheels
a good metal polish is blue magic, it its sorta sky bluish, with a blue lid, and its about 6 oz. or so, has a hologrphic lookin label, you can get it at auto zone i think its about 3 bucks...it workds good on my billet shift knob and shift arm, and my various bilet accesories..no rims yet tho...hahahaha

Re: Polishing BIllet Wheels
if you feel like really making them shine break out the jewlers rouge and the high speed buffer than they will look like a mirror but it sure is alot of work

Re: Polishing BIllet Wheels
Flitz is really good. Semi-chrome is pretty good too. If nothing works on your rims as far as polish, than this is probably your only alternative. Sears Hardware has polishing kits to bring them back to life if winter has killed them. There are buffing bars that come in a set of 4 (the 4 set of large bars is $9.99 (white/red/brown/gray). Then there is a set of 3 buffing wheels that also have the drill bit attachment included (small-medium-large buffing wheels). I used the brown for the tough buff & then went over them with the white. I then threw good polish & then wax on them. This will bring them back to new specks but it is very time consuming.

Re: Polishing BIllet Wheels
i wouldn't put acid on raw billet...this could etch the metal and destroy the wheels...first find out what acid it is and at what concentration...pm me and ill check it out for you. I love my boyds but i would never buy billet again its just way too much work, now that my dime isn't a daily driver its gonna be a little easier to keep em clean but its still a bitch cause just washing the dam thing gets em all spotted up if ya dont dry em quick...blue magic and a dremel will take care of rough spots on dem twankas

Re: Polishing BIllet Wheels
i also have a question. i have a new set of wheels BC hot rods about 4 months old. will any of these polishing waxs damage the finish of the wheel? i wash mine with water and soap it does a good job but i have started to notice some brake dust building up on my wheels i have tried cleaning them with water and soap but the resadue is still there can i use a polish wax for wheels that will not damage the finish.

Re: Polishing BIllet Wheels
I Use Mothers As Well.if You Notice Spots After You Polish Them Your Not Using Enough.the Jar Says To Be Sparing.but I Ve Found That If You Are Very Generous Then They Come Out Like A Mirror.dont Let The Spot Your Polishing Run Thin.keep It Real Thick And Youll See How Good They Look.....
