Mother's ultimate billet polish. The prob with some "billet" wheels there not billet there cast aluminum. Real billet is easier to clean than cast aluminum.

Re: polishing billet

well after rummiging through the garage for something i found that my dad has mother aluminum polish. I wana use it, but dont want anything to go wrong. Anyone think of a reason how it could mess it up.

P.S. the reason why i am scared is because i am a drummer. One day, my dad got off early and though it would be nice to polish my cymbals for me, well what he used ended up eating away at the cymbal's, and they were forever a tarnished ugly ass brown, no more shine or color. So i am kinda iffy bout "trying" things without knownign for sure.

Thats because the cymbals were not meant to be polished by mag & aluminum polish. Aren't they like copper or some type of metal like that, not aluminum? You really can't go wrong. Just start out with a clean terry cloth, put a little dab on it, and start on one section at a time. Start rubbing in a circular pattern until you see a black residue. The key to poilishing is to get terh black residue. That means the polish is taking out all of the oxidation in the metal. After that just wipe clean with a clean section of the rag and move to the next section. I usually go over an area maybe 2 or 3 times just to get it nice and shiny. You can't wear the metal away either.

Considering billet is short for billet aluminum, it shouldn't hurt it

BTW, I use a polish called Green Magic. Not to be confused with Blue Magic. I can't find it anywhere anymore so I dunno where to get it... A local sport truck shop used to carry it and I used to see it at car shows. All I know was that is was made in Texas and it freakin rules.

Re: polishing billet

Just tried the Mothers Billet Polish. Man that stuff is awsome. I use regular mothers or Flitz. This stuff kills them both. My tips look like chrome. They even put the bling bling to my ZQ8's. I know they are coated, but I had just cleaned them the day before with regular mothers. Wanted to try it with that, & it was pulling black onto my rag. I thought they were shiney before but they look great. It must absorb?? Anyway, it is highly recommended over regular Mothers. I was sketchy to use it because the price was double + more than regular Mothers, but I heard to many good things on here not to try it.

Re: polishing billet

Flitz has a paste and a liquid. Both work great. That Zefer shit owns! I forget how to spell it for sure, too.
