pin stripe removal??

Id like to remove the pin stripes on my 1st gen, im wondering if i can just spray some goo gone on them and then peel them off?? Will this work? I posted a topic on the body molding removal and im thinking that almost the same technique is needed here.
thanks,
andrew

Autobody stores sell a stripe removal tool that mounts on a drill. Its made of rubber and supposedly doesnt hurt the paint.

Unhappy i also need advice

I'm going to remove my stripes also (on my 2000 S10, not 1st gen)... so

a: how much does mr. 3m eraser wheel cost?,
and
b: is taking it off myself a problem, because mine seems to be coming up easy, but there's a residue i need to wash off... which brings me to my last question...

Can I get that residue off by just some hot soap water? What have you guys experienced in your pin stripe fiascos.

Thanks.

the eraser wheel is fairly cheap, cant remember the cost, but i had stickers on my truck and that takes it right off, you could do it yourself if you have a dril, and there was no residu on mine, just came off like nothing.

The stripes on my s-10 Xtreme cam off so easy, all I did was start at the door and work my way front, and then to the rear, cleaned up the area with alochol and put a fresh coat of wax, came up crystal clean, I have a black truck, and if you do also take your time and peel slow, so you don't leave too much residue behind.

Most pinstripes could just be pulled off. It's easy, just slowly peel it back.

Every time I remove a decal I use a 3m adhesive tar and grease remover.
Works slick !

Use the 3M no matter how easy it seems, this will be tons quicker & keeps the paint perfect. Just did it on a 95 Z28 that had a thick- gay-pinstripe on it. Took it off so easy it was rediculous & kept the paint perfect as they claim!!
