Peeling/Flaking black rear window trim...
Does anyone else have a problem with the black window trim around the large rear windows on blazer's flaking and turning a chalky white. Don't know if it is oxidation or what. I've tried mothers back to black and wax nothing works. And it's only on the driver side where it is really bad. Any comments would be appreciated!!
Thanks, Blaine |

It's common. Mainly people never put a protective coat (armor-all) on the plastic and it just starts to fade and get eaten up over time. I got my Blazer used and it had already had been faded away. Putting armor-all type stuff on it helps hide it, but there's nothing that'll repair it.

Yes, that stuff should be protected. You can bring back some of the luster with 3m foam pad finisher. Also NEVER EVER use armourall... The stuff will eventually dry out the plastic/rubber/vinyl you're using it on, this is well known in the detailing industry. Use a good silicon based shiner if you want stuff to last.

Ok, I'll Have To Look For That Clearguard. And As For The Warranty, I Wish I Still Had One... I've Got 45k On It Now And Didn't Buy The Extended Warranty With This Truck Like My Last One. I Thought I Would Have Traded It By Now, But I Think I'm Keepin' Her. It's Not Original Looking To All Of You Fellows But Its One Of Two In Jax... Thanxs For The Posts Everyone...
