cory, i'd definately take it back to the guy and at least make him aware of the overspray, but you're prolly best off to do it yourself....ya know no other job can match your own...let us know what goes down

Polishing compound works great. Just make sure you keep it wet...hey, stop laughing.

Re: Overspray on chrome rims..

Basically using a clay bar with some soap water or quick detail spray is your only safe bet. Using chemicals or abrasives can deteriorate the surface of the chrome and cause pitting damage. Polishing too much with anything too abrasive will cause small scratches and take away from the shine of your wheel. Stick with the clay bar. It will probably be a pain with all the contours of the wheel, but a few hours of work can go a long way towards saving your rims.

goodluck !

Re: Overspray on chrome rims..

Use a clay bar. It is easy, wont hurt or scratch anything, & takes overspray off so easy without any elbow grease. When we bought my wifes car the paint was rough. I tried everything to no avail. I finally figured it had to be overspray from the dealer & I used the bar on it & it is baby butt smooth now. Good luck.

Re: Overspray on chrome rims..

well i finally got around to doing, Im home from college and finally had some free time in the last 5 days ill be here out of 3 weeks.. to answer the question why i didnt take it back to him, He got fired a couple months ago. He also painted the hood for a 100 because i had a huge rock chip in it.. everything else was great with the paint minus the overspray a couple minor things.. you get what u pay for .. and for the overspray on the wheels.. well it was only on 3 of them.. and it came off easy as cake.. and im happy.. the wheels are getting old, like a year and a half and they are holding up pretty well, was just happy that it came off.. thanks for the help, and sorry it took so long to reply..
