Old Brake dust....

i just bought these wheels for a dirt cheap price with tires, he said it had some old break dust on them, and would need cleaning. I went out and bought the mothers powerball and some aluminum wheel cleaner (mothers of course) and tried and tried to clean them up. It looks kind of rusty, but theyre aluminum? , what can i buy that helps it out.....anyone else have this problem?

Re: Old Brake dust....

Clean them well, then try Mothers Billet Polish with the Powerball or by hand.
I polished up some Centerlines that sat out for a winter and had some wear like yours, they came out looking like glass.

This stuff, it's usually about $12.
Use the powerball or polishing cloth.

Re: Old Brake dust....

I've never tried any other Mothers polish besides that one. I went through a few brands them once I tried that polish, I stopped looking, it works that good. Usually most places only stock 1 or 2 jars of it.

Autozone & Pepboys usually have them , but it's like they stock only a jar or two, so they'll go out of stock if someone buys it. Luckily for me, there's like 10 differnt Autozones within a few minutes drive.
