Re: New Paint?
I heard you cant use any cleaning products for up to a month or two...my buddy said to wash the truck with dish soap if it needed to be washed.

Re: New Paint?
60-90 days is a little excessive. One month and you'll be fine to wax it. Paints these days do not need the same cure times as they did years ago. On that note, quick detailers do contain some carnuba content to give the effect of depth and gloss. I'm sure its the other solvents in the waxes which can lock in any vocs, not necessarily the carnuba. To be on the safe side, I would just avoid applying anything for the 30 day period, then if you want to slowly work into applying stuff, start w/ quick detailers, then a glaze or wax. I wouldnt use a sealant for 10-12 weeks imo.
And I would never use dish soap to wash a car. Only use auto shampoos designed for vehicles which wont strip waxes. |
