Question my glass is screwed...

last week i peeled off my old tint and there was a lot of residue left. nothing was getting this crap off so tried goo gone and a scrubber pad. with a bunch of elbow grease it all came off buuuttt.... now my glass is like permanantly fogged and streaky. i've tried windex and invisible glass but no products are working....theres even these little drops like from a spray bottle on one of the windows that seem to be hard stained, they will not come off!

this is so bad that i cannot see to drive, the fog and haze will not go away no matter how much i wipe. what's the deal?

Re: my glass is screwed...

if you used a scrubbing pad, chances are it was rough enough to put scratches in the glass which makes it foggy, only thing you can do is get new glass is what id think

im guessing you scratched it with the pad thing. might be able to buff it somehow.

Re: my glass is screwed...

the glass is'nt scratched because it's doing this on parts of the glass that were'nt touched with the scrubber.

and the scrubber i used would'nt have scratched to that extent anyway

Re: my glass is screwed...

try some mineral spirits or paint remover, but be careful with that stuff!
i usually just use a straight edge razor and some goo gone. try that it, it should work

Re: my glass is screwed...

use lighter fluid like for a zippo lighter not that crap to start your BBQ grill then take a razor blade to it and to finish it up sfter you get most the residue off take some fine steel wool like #000 or w/e the one to shine chrome is and buy some of that invisible glass window spray and spray it on and rub around with the steel wool and then wipe off with a clean microfiber rag. PS this technique also works great for overspray. just w/o the razorblade part.

Re: my glass is screwed...

go to lowes/home depot, and get 0000X steel wool, it's too fine to scratch your glass but should take off any residue... just make sure it's 0000X steel wool! anything under 000X will scratch glass!

Re: my glass is screwed...

I have used NeverDull before, seemed to work good and left no scratches or anything on the glass.

Re: my glass is screwed...

i used a razor blade and foam glass cleaner. if by chance you did scratch it up ive heard you can take 2000 grit or higher wet or dry and wet sand it abit and use a buffer and some compound and buff it back out.

Re: my glass is screwed...

i talked to a guy who tinted wondows for a living cause i was having the same problems and he said to get some windex (make sure it has amonia in it, aka the old blue stuff) and spray, let it sit, spray again and that stuff came off like magic. all i had to do was keep the glue wet and keep scrapin with my razor blade.

Re: my glass is screwed...

use Goo be Gone let it sit and hit it with a razor blade and it will come right off. If the haze is still there you did that with the scrubby brush.

Re: my glass is screwed...

Try buffing it with auto wax and a rotating buffer.
