Re: my astro smeeeelllllls!!!!

If it has carpeting, that's probably where most of the smell is coming from. I'd get some carpet cleaner and clean it several times, then Febreeze any type of fabric in the vehicle. It will probably take several cleanings over time to completly rid it of the smell.

Also, check the nooks and crannys for any loose fertilizer that may have spilt out.

You could run an ionizer in there after its cleaned, if you know anyone that has one.

Re: my astro smeeeelllllls!!!!

i work at a car lot and we had this blue astro that somebody was livin in i guess. and there was feces and stuff in there and urine, maybe animal, but it smelled so bad. so we mixed some bleach in with some water and pressure washed that joker till there was no paint left. we still parked it around back and filled it with extra car parts. it still sits there today. its been about 6 months

Re: my astro smeeeelllllls!!!!

Not fun... odor can be a tricky thing to eliminate, long-term. The best thing to do is locate the SOURCE of the odor as much as possible and clean that area first. Castrol All-Purpose Cleaner and Simple Green are both my go-to heavy cleaners for painted/plastic surfaces. You can also go to a local grocery store and buy a cheap box of baking soda, sprinkle generously inside your van, and let that sit over night. I'd do this after trying the Castrol APC or SG and thoroughly washing out the inside of the van. Since it is a cargo van you can simply rinse out the baking soda afterwards.

If still no success, Febreeze as mentioned above may help, but most odors that it eliminates are in porous spaces like carpet and fabric/trim, etc. so it might not get you too far. If that still doesn't cut it, I'd leave the windows open and let that sucker air out as much as possible.

Re: my astro smeeeelllllls!!!!

I would say rip the interior out of it and clean under th matting they put in the van cause if I beleive right there is a cushion/mat/heat shield under the matting and it probably has gotten most of the smell in it.
Then just use hot as bleach water I would mix like half and half bleach and hot water.
