Mr. Cleans Auto dry system?

Has anyone seen or used that product they've been advertising. Mr. cleans auto dry car wash system. Something like that...I was just wondering if it's any good, or if it actually works? I was in wal-mart the other day and saw it for like $19 dollars. Im thinking it's a scam. Because after you go through the starter kit products. They're going to make you spend a lot of money on replacing the stuff b/c it's only designed to fit their product. Or atleast that's kind of what I saw and gathered from it? Let me know if it's any good, or just a rip off. Thanks

i don't know if it works or not, but i'd love to give it a shot if someone else has used it. i'm lazy but i like my truck to look good.

I've got it and I love it. It does work and is well worth the money. I don't know about you, but drying off my blazer took forever. With this, I spend less time washing the car. I'd get it. Walmart is the cheapest that I've seen it on sale. I think there was a thread started about 3 weeks on this topic. Most people loved it and that's what actually persuaded me to go out and buy one.

w0rb..it does work great..just make sure that wen ur soaping..u soap scrub or wipe really good..u can tell where u missed spots cuz wen u wash it off..u can tell by the water beading up..but then do that spot over with the soap..wash it off..then switch to the filter water mist thingy..and yea..the water just practically runs off..comes out pretty shiney too

I agree, it works pretty good! I only had to wipe a couple of spots of water off on my black blazer. I haven't used it on the truck yet.

i dont like it...leaves a weird film or something on everything...i'll stick to washing my black truck by hand and drying it with the California water blade and a chamois

I agree!!. It leaves a film & isn't really any faster than a water blade and a chamois. Not worth the time or money.

hmm u guys use a water blade? is that the thing the window cleaners use? i've never heard of someone usin it to dry their truck..hmm i might try that one day...

yeah it's called "the california water blade" err somethin like that and it's a lot softer plastic that they say is safe for the truck... then just the normal hard plastic one they use to clean windows..

the water blade works great to get the majority of the water off, then go back over it with a soft towel. it save a lot of time, and does a good job. works especially great on bed covers and other flat surfaces.

Don't get the Autodry the cleaner strips the wax off. Its crap just do it the old fashioned way. Its not that hard.

yea i have one.... i used to like it then it started scratching my hood.. and i cleaned it good to avoid that every time.. so i dunno what happened to it.. i dont use it anymore though :thumbdown

i had a summer job detailing cars...and i used the Cali Blade exclusively. I still use one on my truck, works GREAT!

Yeah same here.. I have come to HATE that film and the way it feels afterwards. I end up using my absorber a bunch everytime anyways.

I have never used it but seems like the "express car wash"(shines up the dirt) only in your driveway. I am a detailer and its best to hand wash and dry.

the absorber rocks! lol as for this mr. clean bullshiot, im not down for it. ive never sed it but it just doesnt sound right. id rather dry my truck by hand. and that waterblade, after while of using it, it strats to tear the silicone based blade and will start to scratch your paint. that and if you dont wash your truck well, it will drag that excess dirt over your paint and scratch your paint.

I use an absorber now.. and it is the shi*t...love it, because you dont have to dry the focker before putting it up like leather...
that and its hella cheaper!

i love my mr clean auto dry carwash. i think it works great, and for $18, it was worth every penny.

I use McGuires'(sp?) wash/paint conditioner with warm water(Brita filtered if possible) to wash and I use the old "sheeting" trick to rinse. The idea is to run a flow of water to rinse, not a stream. Let the water sheet off instead of spray off. This will cut down on drying time and will promote a better shine. I use the Cali water blade and a huge genuine chamois to dry. The trick is to do it fast. Create a system where you don't introduce water onto dry surfaces. Work your way from top to bottom and from front to back. The gimmick for the Mr. Clean shit is the drying time. Yes, the filtered water is a good thing, but speed, good soap and efficient "tools and tactics" work just as well.

I have to say that the auto dry thing like mr. clean, which i do own, is total crap. It's not worth it since 1. it still leaves marks and 2. the option that leaves no water marks and uses the filter on it shoots only a mist and takes forever to spray off water. I say either buy one that just mixes water and soap so you don't need a bucket and hose or just use bucket/hose and use squegee and good cloth to dry.

When I saw the way it worked on my buddies 72 Eldorado convertible, those expansive surfaces were . The next day I'm in line at R&S buying one for myself and one for my dad . My bucket is still essential for rinsing out my sponges. I still use the chamois on the soft bed cover, but that's better than the whole truck!

i bought one for my dad...really works...but 1 word of wisdom...rinse of the soap using the normal water then come back with the filter and it'll dry just as good but save money on filters lol whoever uses this try that out it works....took us a week to figrue out how to actually do this
