Mr. Clean AutoDry

I just went out and bought one to was my truck with because I was curious if it really works. I live in AZ and the sun out here is unforgiving so trying to was my truck can be a pain in the ass because by the time I am finished washing the water has dried and there are water spots everywhere. Well I just got finished using it and I am ecstatic about the results. It actually works! There are a few water spots but thats just because I didn't get all of the rinse water off with deionized water. If you are as obsessed with keeping your truck sparkling clean with I am this product is totally worth the $20 for the kit. Extra soap is like $4.99 and so is the extra filter but the time that I will save now from drying my truck is way worth it. I haven't seen my wheels that sparkling clean in a while. I totally recommend this product if you are tired of drying your truck.

Re: Mr. Clean AutoDry

Yeah its kinda cool when you spray the deionized water on because you can see how the water starts to sheet off the truck. Well worth the money. Soon every minitrucker will have one of these in their arsenal against dirty.

Re: Mr. Clean AutoDry

I washed my truck in 95. I rinsed my whole truck and then washed and rinsed my truck in two sections starting with the section in the shade and then I sprayed the deionized water on. You gotta work kinda fast so the rinse water doesn't dry but I finished my truck in less than half the time it usually takes. It only took me like 30 min to wash my truck when normaly it takes close to an hour and a half.

Re: Mr. Clean AutoDry

My wheels are polished and I always had trouble keeping water spots from getting on them. Just make sure that when you spray the deionized water on them that you spary them pretty good. I didn't quite get all the rinse water out of the lug nut holes and some dripped out and left some some spots but other than that it works awesome on wheels. I see now reason why it would be any different with chrome. It does say it can/works with chrome on the box. The soap won't harm you wheels either.

Re: Mr. Clean AutoDry

heh...DI water (deionized water) will eat bare steel...and may cause corrosion on brass too...it is ok with aluminum and stainless steel but we wary on some parts especially is you have paint chips...or scratches on your chassis...and brake rotors

Re: Mr. Clean AutoDry

Where did you hear that at? Deionized water is basically just filtered water. Its the same type of water that comes out of a PuR water filter. All it is, is water that has all the minerals and junk filtered out of it. Its not any more dangerous to bare metal than regular tap water is.

Re: Mr. Clean AutoDry

And your positive that PuR uses those chemicals to purify the water. Because the filter in the AutoDry system is PuR's techonlogy. I seriously don't see how one type of water that has less mineral deposits in it can be more corrosive that hard water.

Re: Mr. Clean AutoDry

if its just filtered then it is not deionized water...to deionize water the polarities are reveresed...you are just washing it with demineralized water...big diff...

Re: Mr. Clean AutoDry

id be willing to bet that everything in that water system is either stainless steel or brass or of a plastic type..heh...really the only ill effects are on carbon steel...but like i was saying its safe to use on a car in general...its not gonna harm the paint

Re: Mr. Clean AutoDry

I was just curious cuz I have a chip on my hood from when a fin on my alternator fan flew up into my hood and made a dent. I haven't seen any type of rust or anything on the chip. You think that the deionized water won't have any effect on bare metal because it evaporates so fast? The water evaporates in less that 5 minutes in direct sunlight. Oh and it is deionized because it says it right on their website.

Re: Mr. Clean AutoDry

unless there is a reversly charged media in there there is no way that they can deionize the water...unless they are using a chemical to break it down into its elemential state...i dunno...ill figure it out...looks like im buying 2...lol
