Ok I bought this because Mother's usually makes a good product. I applied it to my weather stripping about 5 times and could barely see a change. It did do ok on the hard plastics, but not at all what I expected it would do or what the bottle said it'd do.
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. |

Re: Mother's Back to Black = POS
i used it on my 1st gen bumper impact strips, valance and valance on my ranger. i tried it on the rear window trim of my blazer and didn't really do anything. i think it needs something textured to kinda grab to and sink into.

Re: Mother's Back to Black = POS
Heres Black Wow. I would only use it on hard plastic. For rubber trim and seals I use Gummi Pflege.

Re: Mother's Back to Black = POS
Ok, now for my question. Does it last after the first rain? I noticed that rainwater does in fact wash away Back to Black, leaving a streaky mess down the paint. |

Re: Mother's Back to Black = POS
The cleaner is the shit, the polish is more of a preventative step to lengthen the time in between cleanings. |

Re: Mother's Back to Black = POS
I tried the poorboys a while ago and never really cared for it. Gummi Pflege is a made by 1Z Einszett, I apply it all seals (door/trunk, etc) on cars I detail. |

Re: Mother's Back to Black = POS
I used a product called Black Chrome a few years back that worked fairly well. Had to put in on heavy, then go back after soaking in and wipe off the excess. I don't know if they still make it.
Also, from what I remember, plastic cleaner/polish should only be used on smooth plastic pieces (94-97 cowling & mirrors, Street Scene mirrors before painting, etc), and not textured plastic. It does work wonders, though, on those parts. Removes haze and brings back shine. MW |
