Moldy seats

I live up in Canada and my truck has been sitting outside all winter with snow on it. Today I am going to do some work on it so I cleared off all the snow and noticed the interior is a little wet and the seats have a bit of surface mold. What is a good cleaner to take out the mold? I am planning on redoing the seats within the year so it's not a huge deal but I don't want to be driving around on moldy smelly seats lol

Re: Moldy seats

its not an easy task.... but you can do it.

You first need to clean as much of the mold as possible, when this happened to me I just used ALOT of upholstery cleaner. Not sure what brand I used but picked it up at autozone. It was in my carpets so I rented one of those carpet cleaners from the supermarket... I believe they can be used on the seats too.

During cleanings you need to dry the surface to keep the mold from growing back... I kept a fan on it for a day after, and also left a drop light on over night to dry the air out some. I also used dry z air... takes moisture out of the air, autozone has it

Also If you can stand it, run the AC for a while, this will also dry out the air.

Fabreeze will help remove the odors. Put a bowl of vinegar on the floor over night, it works well on the smell too (don't know why)

then once its out, figure out where the moisture is coming from and fix it!!
