mirror residue?

ok i just finsihed painting my new ss mirrors white the other day, and when i took the masking tape off, it left a residue on the actual mirrored part, but is not sticky. i tried windex and 409 to no avail. someone help me out...

I always just use laquor thinner if i get overpray or residue on my windows or mirrors. Just put some on a paper towel or cloth, n it should wipe right off. It wont hurt ur mirror, just rinse it off afterwards.

well i have access to all that and thought of it, but i didnt know if the "glass" on the ss mirrors is true glass or not, and didnt want to take a chance of melting it or something stupid like that that always seems to happen..
