yup...sometimes i have to due to parking lot conditions like gravel....theres no way in hell id use my 3000 PSI pressure washer with gravel in the parking lot, on a $50,ooo 62 impala or a $200.ooo rolls royce phantom

i also use a D.O.T. approved traffic cone and it has to be a slow road

nice, mobile detailing is the way to go! Barely any overhead, although the laws are becoming strict on water polution in some states. How many gallons is your water tank ?

I'm sure that is an ancient transportation law from back when semi trucks didn't weigh as much as they do now.

we have that here in missouri too. from what I understand most trucks that weight that much are for pulling trailors and such. most of the time they have a trailor so they dont need to have a plate back there.

Re: man i love my job......

I'm liking it a lot. I used Presta Swirl Remover on this one though, didn't want to do too much polishing for a measly $50...Swirl Remover leaves a great gloss behind, Natty's Blue made it even better

Re: man i love my job......

Whats the optimum treatment? I keep up on my truck because i used to detail cars for a dealership and now it pains me to see my truck get dirty. I probably wash my truck weekly and wash it biweekly. But what is the optimum treatment? Does it require a buffer?

theres a price for everything...
there is, i think it would be worth it, i would rather pay someone who cares a little more than a shop that just wants rent money... at least you have low overhead w/o running a shop that you'd have to lease, is that what prompted you to take that route?

yea im about QUALITY NOT quantity, like most others are about....

i chose this route because i started detailing when i was 16 (14 years ago) just as a kid to make money but worked many places over time....started learning the do's and dont's and decided to take all that knowledge i learned and built my own trailer...now ive been on my own for almost 6 years now...and love it...

I've got the same thoughts and plans, and I started at 16 too

Hell, depending on how much you're getting paid for the work, sometimes the satisfaction of your own hard work pays off a hell of a lot better. When others see you're focused on doing a great job with every car you detail they're willing to pay YOU to do the work. It sucks though, a lot of people really don't care what goes into the detail, that's why us OCD types get the high rollers
It sucks being young and being in this business, and it sucks even more for me cause I look like I'm barely old enough to drive, but those who know my work know I do a damn good job
