Re: jb weld on paint
Theres one risky way to get it off... a steady hand and a dremel. mask everything you want to save, grind the rest down with a dremel until theres only a thin portion left.. you can then use a square razor blade to lightly shave at the rest. Take your time!

Re: jb weld on paint
If the paint was waxed before you should be able to pop the JB Weld spot off. It doesn't stick well to clean waxed surfaces. Try something like a paint stick to keep from scratching the paint.
If you can't pop it off I would mask off everything but the JB and start block sanding. Use something somewhat fine, like 320 or 400 grit, till you get close to the surface. Then I'd switch to 600 grit and sand till I could start to see the surface below, then switch out to 1000 or so and wetsand till I die of old age or get the JB off, which ever comes first. Probably need a little buffing afterwards, but a spot that small could be done by hand (unless you somehow managed to mix 30 tubes of JB Weld and cover half your truck). |
