Re: How to remove....?

when i worked at a body shop awhile back we used a rubber eraser attached to a drill. takes it right off. might also use some laquer thinner to help loosen it up then use maybe a regular eraser like one of those big pink ones for pencils.

Don't use laquer it will eat the rubber and make it crack. Use gunk be gone, or some type of sticker remover at auto parts store. they can help you with what you need if you just ask.

Re: How to remove....?

You can however try paint thinner. It should do the trick without drying out the rubber.

Re: How to remove....?

I had to take stickers off my windows when I first bought my Blazer (there were probably around 20 purple sparkly paw prints total covering the back windows and side rears lol) and I went to use Goo Gone or whatever. I read it though, and it says it can eat off paint. Being that it might drip down onto my paint that kind of scared me. Plus, we used a little bit and kept it off the paint and it barely did anything anyways. I ended up using regular WD-40 and it worked perfect. Came off pretty damn quick, it was just a little bit of a pain to get all the WD cleaned up, otherwise it leaves greasy streaks.

Re: How to remove....?

i just removed my whole body kit that had double sided tape around the whole entire truck. I used one of these rubber eraser wheels. I got the whole truck done in 30-45 minutes. They are amazing! and it didnt burn the paint at all!

http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?i...emType=PRODUCT

But I would be a little hesitant on using it on the rubber. just be careful that it doesnt burn the rubber or melt it. If you dont want to use that, get a putty knife (plastic blade)... or rub your thumbs raw...

Re: How to remove....?

did you actually use an eraser wheel on a drill or die grinder? You need the speed to remove it. you can just use a regular pencil eraser... lol

Re: How to remove....?

go to a real auto store (not autozone), and buy an eraser wheel. You won't regret it.

Re: How to remove....?

dont use the eraser wheel.. it will burn the rubber up and make it look worst.. get some thinner and a rag and take your time.. rag with thinner on it and rub it on the spot with the glue.. then take your nail and scrape the glue off.. thats how i did mine and mine are all cracked apart..

Re: How to remove....?

Umm... that's a 3m tape mostlikely. Doesn't 3m have an strong adhesive remover in a spray can anymore its like $5-7 if they still sell it at home depot. That's what I used to get rid of the badges, stickers, and door moldings. I'm not sure what that does to rubber but fine on paint.

Re: How to remove....?

look mine had those same visors when i bought it....
you really dont need any kind of product. your gonna get blisters but dont be a bitch about it. get in there and rub at it. IT WILL ball up and fall off. when one finger starts to hurt use the next. u dont wanna use any products? there goes your solution....
dont tell me it doesnt work cuz ive done it plenty....

rub away til your little hearts content.

in my experience goo gone helps along a lil, but mainly rubing. the heat from the friction causes it to ball up.
im sure anyone of these product work too but posting up about how they dont wont make the tape fall off. get out there and bust ur ass.

Re: How to remove....?

yeah, that oops crap doesnt work at all. I bought that and goo gone to take off my tape from my body kit.
Like the other dude said, use your thumbs and rub it off. Otherwise, get a rubber wheel and go to town. Just be careful not to burn the rubber with it.

Re: How to remove....?

Something I just thought of. Whenever I debadged a vehicle and had a lot of that tape left behind. I would use Good Gone in conjunction with a small plastic squeegee. The Goo Gone would act as a lubricant as well as helping to remove the stuff. The plastic squeegee is something like you would use to install a clear bra or headlight protection. I bet that would help you. I may even break down and give it a shot on mine.

Thought I would throw that out there.

i just took mine off 3 days ago and used soap and a razor blade. worked fine but u have to take ur time. i hate not having ventshades though because i smoke and the ventshades kept water from coming in when the window is rolled down a little bit. lol
