Re: How to polish underhood parts?

buffing compound and a buff wheel is what we used to polish aluminum.

With the buffing compound are you guys using polishing bobs for like a dremal or something bigger that you would use a drill for?

something much bigger. you would burn up a dremel with the size buffing ball i am thinking about.

something about as big as a baseball, and then a big electric drill should do the trick

Re: How to polish underhood parts?

i wouldnt really want to use a ball of any sort under the hood because of the splatter and if you are polishing your alternator than with the electronics in there that would be a no no. I hate changing them on my truck as it is and dont want to do it again because of polishing it. just my 2 cents

Re: How to polish underhood parts?

Ive tried neverdull and worked at it for a long time and it wasnt any diff. When im at shows...guys have there aluminum parts looking almost chrome...i looked in my east wood catalog and saw differant buffing compounds and buffs that i can try, underhood splatter would be a prob..but for like the alternator i can just take it out and separate the case to polish it.
