how to keep truck clean

My trucks sits outside all the time and its impossible to keep the damn thing clean, I leave for work at 6 am and cant get up earlier to wash my truck. Although its no where near a daily It does see all rain. I try to keep up on it but its depressing. Whats a good way to keep it clean outside, I am thinking of getting a real nice car cover but I think people will be curious of whats under there, but in 2 years my truck has never been messed with cause its kinda sunk into my yard covered by the house and trees.

Re: how to keep truck clean

buy an easy up, or 2, and cover it, that will at least keep straight falling rain off of it, wind+rain and dust might be another story, they stake in the ground, or if you park on concrete, etc, maybe you can put some weighted bags or something over the bases, to keep them from blowing away?..and +2 on at least its not black...i think the 8x10 or 8x8 easy ups go for like 80 bucks or so each?

Re: how to keep truck clean

move to NC where it barely rains. lol

My truck stayed outside when I lived there and I only really needed to wash it once a week or less.

But now Im in Ohio and I feel your pain.

Re: how to keep truck clean

put a good heavy coat of wax on it and a car cover.... wax will keep the scratches at bay and keep the coat nice.. as far as other stuff.. good coat of wax and a california duster.. does wonders..

Mine is a daily and i wash it when i can.. best time to wash is at night if you are able b/c you wont get water spots..

Re: how to keep truck clean

I live in canada...I am happy if my truck isn't covered in salt.
I usually have to wash it once a week, when it's warm enough too.

i tried this for the first time tonight, curious to see how it will turn out, i'm sure there will still be drops in places, but its just going to rain half the weekend anyway, and i just cleaned it up to roll in with a handful of members..(like the dummy above me^^^ ) to a show in the morning...

Rain, cant help ya but what i do if there is just some small water spots is get a polisher like a whipe and shine, eagle one is what i use. blue bottle just spray it on and wipe off with microfiber. for the pollen and stuff i use a california duster they are like 10$ at walmart or somethin they work super good!
