Re: how to get yellow off headlights

permatex makes a headlight cleaning kit that you use and it takes the yellow off for the most part

Sand them with 2000 grit sandpaper & then buff them . They will look like new & won't fade for afew years.

Re: how to get yellow off headlights

I ordered up the wolfgang lens cleaning system and could not be happier. Its a 3 step process that is really very simple. I just use a cordless drill and the pads that come w/ the kit. I would say a pair of really bad lenses will take about 30 mins to clean up. Below is a comparison pic of some fogs i did not too long ago. I think the results speak for themselves.

You should be able to pick it up from autogeek, autopia or similar type store.

Re: how to get yellow off headlights

i believe it was 50 bux. I have done about 10 pairs of lenses and still have plenty of product left in the bottles. Good deal if you can sell a few jobs and make it back on two or three jobs.

couple hundred bucks for new headlights when someone isnt sure how to properly use that method and scratches the shit out of the lenses and has to buy new ones sometimes the cheapest method isnt always the best. Thats almost like telling someone to wetsand their paint when asking how to make it shine better. Sure, it could work, but not everyone is cut out for doing it w/o costly mistakes.

Re: how to get yellow off headlights

You can use plastic scratch remover, also good for lexan windows. they sell it at plastic retailers. I had to use it for a machine at work then tried it on my 240sx headlights, night and day difference, a few bucks a bottle and they have different stages depending how bad it is.

Re: how to get yellow off headlights

Novus polish DOES WORK! My daughter has a 97 Honda Civic and left headlight was terribly yellow, right one was nearly like new. After reading above about Novus I went to their website and ordered the 8oz. kit. I received it this week and applied #2 cleaner with a wool bonnet on my electric drill pad at low speed. In less than 30 minutes that lens looked like new right one and with no scratches. I used it on the right one which now looks even more better. I then used the #1 polish on the wool buffing pad on both lights and they really shine now. I then applied it to my 00 dime lens, which I thought already looked new, but to my surprise, they too look even more better. I have plenty of polish left for future need. I'm thinking of advertising that I can remove yellow off headlights and go into little side cottage business. I'm a satisfied shopper of Novus plastic polish.

That is the same reason I picked up the Novus line...,

IT WORKS and does not cost an arm and leg (plus the ease of use), machine or by hand, but like anything else, machine will give faster results
