There's a great how to on youtube about retrofitting projectors into headlight housings and they did there's in the oven. And considerring I don't have a heat gun, I'm gonna do em that way. And the mother jus went to bed, so the oven is preheating haha. I'll post pics of mine later

Ok, I did mine tonight. . took me about an hour n a half i guess? ? But I did other stuff too. . Like tried to clear up the plastic a lil of the oxidation. . the actual clearing of the headlight was very simple. . I put the headlights in the oven at 300 degrees for 4 minutes. . then pried em apart, they came apart very very easy. . Here's some pics of mine. .

Re: HOW TO - clear 98-up GMC headlights

I picked up a headlight to try form the wreckers yesterday so I don't wreck the good one. Have had this TYC aftrermarket in the oven a total of 7 minutes now and can't get it apart. Gonna try again later as I have some shopping to do right now. If it works later I'll try my good ones. The wife will kill me when she gets home if I can't get the smell out of the oven.

Re: HOW TO - clear 98-up GMC headlights

I can't speak for aftermarket ones but my OEM headlights took 4 minutes, I used 2 flathead screwdrivers and pryed from the outside edge, like outside as in when they are on the truck. . . And i only had to break that part loose, and it came right apart. . . So keep tryin! !

Re: HOW TO - clear 98-up GMC headlights

Managed to get the aftermarket apart. Had to put them back in the oven like 4 times for 3 minutes each time but I got them apart. This week I think I'll try the stock ones.

Re: HOW TO - clear 98-up GMC headlights

Ya, I tried puttin some ebay corners in the oven a long time ago and i put em in for like 2 minutes, and had a glove on and grabbed it to take it out of the oven, and it squished. . haha. . so if u try it, jus be careful. . . ebay lights are made of cheap plastic. . . haha. .

The ones I put in were TYC and they took forever to come apart.

Re: HOW TO - clear 98-up GMC headlights

1998-2000 were the only years that will fit, but you need to buy all the HID stuff too or you have to modify the lights to accept your bulbs.
