Re: How do I clean my zq8's?
I dont have to worry about brake dust. i got some new pads from o'rillys auto parts. Wagner thermo quiet. i installed them about 6000miles ago and they give off very little if any brake dust. also i havent found a problem with the brakes at all. and to clean brake dust i just use water and a sponge.

Re: How do I clean my zq8's?
I use Spray 9... on the tires, and wheels themselves. I have a wash mit set aside just for cleaning the wheels alone.
Here is what I do. Spray the Spray 9 on the tires, and work your way around working yourself into the center of the wheel making 2-3 passes. wait a minute or so... you will see the spray 9 suds turning brown as it just pulls dirt up as it begins to run down your wheels. I then start on just the tire with a plastic brush. until it is all a uniform "brown/gray" color from all the dirt being pulled up. Then I use the mit that I wet down down what is left after washing the truck of the soap water. and just start on the lip-inward. You can put a coat of wax on the wheels too which will help prevent some brake dust from sticking. my .02 |

i agree with blindmandesigns on the wax. it helps out alot! i used wax on my swirlies when i had them. and after washing my truck id just go over the rims and tires with the wash mit, and then after dried off, hit the wheels with the ICE spray detailer and a terry cloth to get the nooks and crannies. worked pretty well for me. kept them clean and no spots or nothin

Re: How do I clean my zq8's?
They are not mint, but I didn't buy them new...so I have to live with some imperfections from the last owner. But they do clean up nicely ![]() |
