horrible smell...
hey guys i just got a geo tracker.....
the vents were clogged up so i took apart the black box thing and the blower motor on the bottom and ther was a humungous rats nest.... so now i turn on the fan/ac/heat and i get a HORRIBLE smell out of it...i've tried spraying stuff down into the vents but that makes it worse...any suggestions??? i'd be REALLY thankful.. |

Re: horrible smell...
the only real thing you can do is flush your system...meaning take the black box and the blower motor off where your rats nest was. Take that completely out. Take a air nozzle and blow thru your vents...if you have a steamer throw the ol steamer thru it as well....it might be good to get a new blower box and or blower...you'll get rid of it

Re: horrible smell...
I don't recommend blowing it out of the vents. Rats carry diseases, and leave them long after they are gone. Make sure you get it taken care of ASAP. If you do it, where a mask and gloves.

Re: horrible smell...
most deail shops have an ozone machine which kind of sucks the air out of the car killing/eliminating all the bacteria... it usually costs like 45-50$ but if the smell doesnt come out you should get your money back

Re: horrible smell...
um i would tear the dash of(with gloves and mask) and pull all of the AC ducting out, u probably have dead animal in there somewhere, i would remove the ENTIRE ac ducting system and THROUGHLY clean every square inch inside and out with bleach and water.
