Arrow Heres everything i use

ok for waxes i use this stuff called Nu (something) once a year car wax its in a bright orange bottle cant miss it i use it bout 1 every month or so works veery well and lasts ive seen it every where even walmart

to dry it i recently got one of those california wiperblade things works very well also at walmart

inside i just use a damp cloth i think someone really used some good stuff before i had the truck cuz its really shinny and kinda slick feeling but not greasy at all.

for my annonamous chrome things i use this wadding stuff called Eagle One Never Dull. works great even removed some light rust on my lug nuts

For polish i use meguiars 3 stage, and for wax, meguiars NXT.
Tire shine works great on the wheel wells, as previously mentioned.

Windex on windows.. On the inside? I think that's not good..

I used quick detailer for windows, alot of people make the mistake of spraying on the surface to be cleaned then wipe.. The best way to clean is to fold the microfiber towel into quarters, and then spray 1 - 2 squirts, and then wipe down.. It should all evaporate immediatly, if it doesn't, you used too much..

Just a little show tip. After cleaning your windows with glass cleaner go over them with a chalk board eraser. It will make your windows cleaner then it is with glass cleaner.

Re: Heres everything i use

when i used the mr. clean auto dry i thought it left a film on my truck , i know it wasnt because it needed waxed cuz i had just waxed it the day before. i think it could of been because of our crappy water here where i live. I have heard alot of good things about it though.. i just stick with my meguirs car wash and my bucket for now.

Re: Heres everything i use

I use everything i have from my last job has a car detailer. I have a lot of chemicals, Degreaser, Wheel Acid (awesome on chrome), Orange spray and just about every kind of aerosol spray cleaner you can get.
I usually use the Mr Clean, let it dry then toss a nice coat of Eagle one nano wax or this other stuff i got from my last job.
Needless to say my truck very often stays clean as a whistle, kind of a complex i got from my last job since i was aways demanded of perfection.

Re: Heres everything i use

I was curiouis what makes that Mr. Clean Auto Dry stuff so great? Is it because it sprays out filtered water? In that case, you could get a water softner system, branch off of the water line after it comes out of the water softner, and have it go to the outside. Now you have filtered water. Also, some people might say, "Salt is bad for your vehicle". Well, the salt they put on the roads is different then the stuff you put in the water softner.

Re: Heres everything i use

also they normally put SAND on the roads instead of salt (at least here in Reno, NV) cuz it will keep it dry instead of just melting it and turning it into a big block of ice.

Are you sure the water softner is even hooked up to the sillcocks (outside faucets). I've yet to see a house that has the outside faucet on the same line as softened water. Most of the time the outside faucets are branched off before the water softners. The reason for this is because sillcocks are usually branched off the main service line right away. The softened water part is usually AFTER the sillcocks. Double check, though, and let me know

Also, here in Minnesota, they'll put both down (sand and salt), depending on the weather conditions (if its slushy, cold, both, etc)

The Mr clean uses a polymer that makes the water sheet off. It is a combination of filtered water and the polymer on there that makes the water dry off.

IMO oppinion, the Mr. Clean auto dry is pointless.. I dry my truck by hand.. If theres any spots afterwards, just hit it up with a detail spray.. Easy as that, you don't gotta go out and spend money on a little sprayer, filter and soap to get your ride clean..

lol, im a mini trucker, i aint got that kinda money to throw around lol

Re: Heres everything i use

yeah, but the autodry just makes the spotless wash easier, so then i can hit it with the calybar, like this weekend. just one question on the claybar though:
when i spray the car and then rub the claybar over it am i suppose to whipe off that area with a rag when i move to the next area?

I'm with you on that opinion, if you have a good protected finish the water should sheet off well enough to not have waterspots, it's not worth saving the 5 minutes to dry it by hand or hit it with some Z6.

Re: Heres everything i use

true i have a nice coat of wax on mine and a nice clearcoat so its easy as hell to clean off with a california wiper blade. i got it cuz it was a one time investment, (in otherwords i dont have to buy filters or special soap for it.) only thing is though u have to make sure theres no dirt still on the truck b4 u wiper it otherwise it may trap it and scrape it along the surface. if you wash it good there shouldnt be. (plus it instantly dries)

ive also got that meguires hot tires tire shine or some thing like that. the stuff works very well. still nice and shinney after 3weeks and 4 rainstorms.

Re: Heres everything i use

Here is a little test I did with the Autodry.
I was one of the original testers, meaning I was sent one by P&G to try out before it hit the market and was in the hands of retailers...
(just my personal observations)
Remember, everyone's water is different.
Our tap (city) water will literally kill plants (no, I am not kidding) and a good friend of mine that lives in Arkansas just washes his car and walks away with no spots and no drying (I would love to have that water...)

Anyhow, this is something I thought you guys might be interested in..., especially Dallas

Try this if you have any test panels..., or, try it on your fender- (I personally use selected test panels as I have many test panels for evaluating products as I review products for several company's before products are released..., or if the results are really bad, they reformulate and send a new sample)
anyhow>>>

Wash panel or fender with your favorite car wash-

Wax panel or fender with your favorite wax-

Spray fender with water to make sure you are getting beading and make note of the beads, how large or small, how tight the pattern, etc-

Wash with Autodry soap using a wash mitt, towel, or whatever system you normally use when washing-

Look for beading, note again the size of the beads, patterns, etc-

Wash 4x with water Only, make note of the beading-

Now wash with car wash that does not make water bead (contains no wax, no polymers, no sheeting, etc)-

Wash again with water only to remove any residue of the last car wash-

Make note of the beading-

Remember, you only washed with water, only one car wash was a mild wash to remove any residue that would either cause sheeting or beading...,

What are the results?

Do you think it is removing the wax?

What originally caused beading?

Have you compared it to auto-dish detergent with sheeting action?

Just thinking out-loud...

Re: Heres everything i use

I never did buy into Autodry, never wanted to try it and most likely never will. Don't get me wrong I love to try new products but some things just look gimicky. I'll stick to drying my truck off with a waffle weave microfibre towel. For the most part water just sheets off because the paint protection is well taken care of on my own ride. Well except when it's in my garage for custom work, but then it usually gets a full detail right after.

Derek tried Autodry and was pretty damn fond of it at the time, but I think he's on to using a high quality Waffle Weave Microfibre towel. I think it's more cost effective to say the least!

I think Autodry has it's place depending on the customer. I'm just not one of them.

I gave it a try last summer when it came out. Overall it does work pretty well. If you don't have a garage and have to wash in the hot summer sun and HATE drying by hand than this is your product. The soap I wasnt too fond of since it does seem to leave a film. I think overall it takes just as long maybe actually even longer than a normal wash followed by drying by hand. I might give it another go this summer but not use the soap, simply use the filtered water as a last spray down then follow up with a Microfiber Waffle Weave.

Re: Heres everything i use

just washed the truck this weekend
washed 2 times since i had a little oil spil on the truck
clayed (i love that smooth feeling, like a womans butt)
polished with meguiers deep crystal system STEP 2
waxed with mothers carnuba wax (stuff that comes with the clay, i got a COUPLE bottles)
did the interior with turtle wax f21 and meguiers carpet cleaner (till i ran out) and vacuumed it.
took pictures before and after and if someone could tell me how to get a garage i would be MORE then happy to put them up.

Re: Heres everything i use

what is good to use on that rubber mat for those people (including me) that have it instead of carpet on the floor of the cab. i used a little bit of tire shine and it seemed to work pretty well, but i dont wanna waste my tire shine.
