Head Lights.

Ive sanded and polished my head lights but they are not as clear as my new corner lenses. Whats a really good polish for them to make them a little bit more shiny. Should I sand them some more and polish more? Thanks for the help.

Re: Head Lights.

did you work your way down?? starting off with a rough grit(400 maybe) and ending with a fine grit(2000 or 2500 maybe)

then use a rubbing compound(turtle wax makes good stuff)...then polish and buff

agreed...forgot to mention wet sanding...this usually takes place with the finer grits

of course...some wetsand on every grit

Re: Head Lights.

I wetsanded and then polished with a wax that i thought might work from auto zone. Its a Head light wax that is used for small scratches. It worked fair. Ill try to buff it a little or go try a different wax. Ill get some pics. Maybe Im just being a little to OCD about it. They just dont look like other s10/blazer headlights that are CLEAR! Sorry for blurry picture in a hurry out to work. Thanks guys.

Re: Head Lights.

I think the problem is that your clear corners are "crystal" clears and you didnt get the headlights to match. Making your headlight seem dull or less transparent.

Re: Head Lights.

They dont look too bad. I'd go w/ some 4" pads on a cordless drill w/ a finishing polish at this point. Might be all it needs left.

Re: Head Lights.

i dont see any pics, but you can polish them by hand, its not that hard.

the way your headlights look you can probably get away without sanding but if you want to really get them to shine i would recommend wet sanding.

Re: Head Lights.

you realize all that work is totally useless unless you get the lenses UV coated again correct? otherwise they will be brittle, yellow pieces of shit in about 6 months...

Well with the Blue metal polish it leaves a silicone protective film, i dont know how long it lasts but do these look like yellow pieces of shit? (done 9 months ago & pics taken 5 minutes ago)
