Re: going rate?

i know its cheap. theyre just starting out. wash, claybar, wax, vacuum, stain removal, interior wipedown. nothing extravagant. but they want to pay me $30 out of that 80-100, AND im paying for all the materials. ninjas getting skimped. what percentage of that should be mine.

I'd tell them to just pay you something by the hour not the job...

Re: going rate?

well i would start with finding out how much you will be spending in materials. start from there. also it depends on how many your doing a day or a week.. or better yet how manyyour doing unitl your materials are exhausted. if they were paying for your supplys i would say 30-40 per job would be fair. but i have no expereince in the field and that price is only my opinion.

better yet, call around see what other places are paying and go from there.

right, but you have probably been established a while, this is a new thing for us, so well us the principals of supply and demand. As we get more business and exhaust the supplies, well increase the cost.

Basic "overhead" charges. Seems like a fair trade-off. Your probally using his electric, water, space, etc... plus assuming he will be advertising your services and getting you customers. You'd probally be on his insurance and stuff to protect yourself and under his business license. You probally gotta figure out hows he paying you: payroll employee or indi contractor, etc.

Re: going rate?

i do my own side detailing jobs whenever im not working. it includes most fo the stuff you said up there, vacuum, interior wipe down, wash and what not. wax is extra, but i usually charge 30-40 bucks and it takes less than an hour, so if you find the right store(i usually buy my stuff from walmart, or autozone) then you should be okay. i usually buy the bigger bottles, cause after a while ur in a sense saving money, hope this helps.

i did detailing minus the sanding. tell you waht hard work for the hour it took for a car, i made 80 per vehicle, do three an afternoon, 240 cash a day, i did it four days a week, not bad for extra cash. first day pays for mat for the week, and lunch lol, rest was bill money.
