Re: Fresh Paint

Yeah wash like normal, just use low pressure, and dont use ANTHING abrasive. I would use microfiber everything.

Re: Fresh Paint

i was messing with you earlier man lol anyway id say use a normal hose do not use a pressure washer it would likely take the clear coat off. to dry i would use a shammy cloth since they are non abrasive.

Re: Fresh Paint

Yes just be gentle on it. Don't use any harsh cleaners. Use light pressure when cleaning and rinse with low pressure water. DO NOT WAX, you can use hand glaze but most paint shops will tell you not to wax a fresh paint job for a while. Hand glaze is fine tho, it's what they put on after the buffing is done.

Re: Fresh Paint

wash it like you normally would, I would not I repeat do not go through a auto washer if you appreciate your rig.. i've repaired way to many vehicles from auto washers.. and do not use wax.. use something like wizards shine master.. that shit will give you awesome deep look and is safe for the fresh goods... and as far as micro fibre's go they now have micro fibre chamois.. and wow those things are saweeet...

Re: Fresh Paint

yep...like these guys have said...wash as normal with a mothers/megs type wash and dont wax the car. That will trap the voc's and you'll ruin the paint.

Re: Fresh Paint

Oh, and to dry, I always use a leaf blower then wipe any excess with a microfiber drying towel.

Re: Fresh Paint

You know what.. Now that you mention it I have used the Mr. Clean... and I have to say that it works great... although I do have to say that I was not happy with the longevity of it.. but then again I do have to say that I was washing cars everyday almost so it's probably not a valid complaint that a occasional user would have....

Re: Fresh Paint

they say dont wax fresh paint for bout 60 days or so.......the reason being is the fresh paint is curing and will cause the paint to start bubbling. dont believe it, but it is true, and i should know since my mom deals with this shit all the time since she works in a body shop and stuff.

Just make sure you're not using dawn or anything like that. Use quality suds and you'll be fine.

That is what my paint shop told me as well. Don't use Dawn after your first wax though because it will strip the wax off. It should work fine for the first 90 days tho. Then again you could always use regular car wash soap.

Re: Fresh Paint

You're forgetting that dawn is designed to remove oils. It'll also dry out any molding/weatherstripping you have.
