for low eskimo
well detailing an engine may seem like an easy deal, but actually it is the second hardest area to detail if u want to do it right and safe. it is hazardous to your paint and can get u in trouble with the law. MAKE SURE U DONT WASH UR TRUCKS ENGINE ON A LAWN OR AROUND A SEWER IF U HAVE BAD NEIGHBORS AROUND. U CAN ACTUALLY GET FINED AND GO TO JAIL FOR THIS!! SOme of the best degreasers to use is called Gunk or actually WD 40 is the ideal thing to use. ?Wash the front of the vehicle, fender, hood, grill wheel wells/ DO NOT WASH IT OFF. DO NOT RINSE IT OFF. THIS WILL PREVENT ANY CHEMICAL STAINING FROM THE PRODUCT. BECAUSE WOULD U EVER APPLY WD 40 TO YOUR PAINT OF COURSE NOT. SO WHEN U APPLY WD40 TO THE ENGINE AND IT IT WITH WATER IT WILL END UP ALL OVER. So keep the suds on the areas. ANOTHER THING TO WORRY ABOUT OR JUST BE SMART ABOUT. COVER UR ENIGNES ELECTONIC SENSORS, INTAKE SYSTEM, DISTRIBUTER.
Now wet down the engine this is so the prodcut will spread more evenly. Now aply ur products and let it sit on the area for a small length of time 10 minutes or so. also make sure if ur doing this at home u have a approctiate pound of water coming out. u dont want 40 pounds of water hitting the area cause it will blast ur paint off as well. i just reccomend using a pressure washer cause there regulated not to do this. ANd then ur done. Repeat if needed. I know i might have scared you with this small amount of information. The main things are this. 1. wash all front end and leave suds on there. 2. cover the areas in the engine as mentioned above. 3. spray with only water. 4. apply ur wd40 i use, or u can use gunk. 5. let sit then spray down with regulated pressure washer. ALSO ANOTHER IMPORTANT THING. WHEN U WASH UR CAR SOMETIMES U GET WATER IF UR EYE. DO U WANT WD40 IN YOUR EYES??? NOT!! SO I KNOW IT SOUNDS DUMB OR LOOKS STUPID, BUT WEAR SOME SAFETY GOGGLES. Mothers ultimate billet polish works great or there aluminum polish. u have to determine if your wheel is clearcoated. When u rup your polish on look at the rag. you should see black on the rag. if not, then u need a cleaner for a clear coated wheel. if it black that means the wheel is not clearcoated. A good tool to use is a sawed off paint brush. has right amount of stiffness and is gentle enough to scrub off chrome plated almunium wheel. so i guess u have an extreme with those wheels? use the eagle one aluminum spray on cleaner. let sit hose off. then get ur polish by mothers or what i use meguairs and your set. polish then polish off and apply a wax after if u want to maintain and product the surface. any more questions ask. |
