it just does the "rubbing" for you. their polish probably isn't anything special. you can always pickup a buffing wheel at a hardware store and use that with similar results. |

Re: FLITZ buffing thingy...
I got the Flitz ball and metal polish but haven't got around to testing it on my wheels yet. The polish has been around for years and actually does have some unique properties that is supposed to protect and seal the metal. This is a good property to have on aluminum because it will corrode over time if not properly protected. By corrode, I mean the billet will lose it's shine and become milky looking.
Give it a shot and let us know what you think. I plan to try it soon... |

Re: FLITZ buffing thingy...
I used mothers billet polish and one of those polishing attachments from the hardware store on my Boyds and they always looked as good as the day i bought them. All the wheel does is save you from rubbing your ass off but it does save time and IMO its worth the cash.

Re: FLITZ buffing thingy...
I just built my own polishing wheel with parts that i bought at CanadianTire....it works so well
I bought a few different parts and attached a 6" polishing wheel to my cordless drill. i used Mothers Billet as my polish, and i got the tiny tiny hair line swirls out of my rims!! best $12 i ever spent |

Re: FLITZ buffing thingy...
Granted it's not the wonder tool. But it does a pretty good job of polishing. I'm still using it after a long time.
I'm using Blue Magic alum polish. It does take a lil load off your elbow. Was it worth 26.00/28.00 ? Yes and no. If it were just 20.00 to the door it'd be fine. The extra shipping-handling charge made it more closer to 30.00 and that's not worth it, but like I said I still use it to his day and it does clean when washed so you can use over & over..If you can come up with something cheaper go for it. If not there's this.. |
