Re: favorite wax

I used the Pinnacle Souveran paste wax on my wifes car after a quick polish with Menzerna Super Intensive Polish then Menzerna Micro Polish.

Nothing short of stunning! Souveran on black FTW

Re: favorite wax

I use something that you just can't go out to Wal-Mart and buy off the Shelf, I use Majestic Salutions Excite and on darker colored paints it works wonders and makes the paint have that wet, mirrored look.

Here is a link to their website:

Re: favorite wax

Maybe doing a little thread digging here but I just got done waxing my black '07 impala with Collinite 915 and it looks great! I read some reviews on it over at autopia and decided to pull the trigger. I was going to go for the 476 but decided against it.

It was hard to get out of the can but I think they do that so you wont get so much wax on the pad. Once you get the amount of wax right then your all set. The car looks great! Couldnt be more pleased. And to beat it all I'm estimating i could wax 10-15 cars with one tub. The amount in the can looks like its hardly been touched.

Re: favorite wax

dude I got to tell you guys so far the longest lasting stuff I've ever used so far is Nufinish.
even after a wash it's still there.
nothing I've ever had does that. NOTHING. except the 3m show car stuff you get at the paint store. the the 3m stuff is gone in 2 car washes. but nufinish is there for a dozen washes and 6 months of rain.

and it's so slick feeling. no wax even on a fresh paint job feels this slick.
hands down the best polish/wax I've had.

looks like it's been rated #1 by a few magazines.

Re: favorite wax

Re: favorite wax

I actually might try Nu Finish. I like that it doesn't have carnuba, which should make it last a lot longer. Plus it's not that expensive at Target/Walmart.

Re: favorite wax

Either 476/845/915. Both 476 and 915 are paste waxes. 915 is a few bucks more as its supposed to be a littler "shiney" wax if you will. 845 is a liquid.

You can't go wrong with any of them. If you have a Harbor Freight close by go in there and see if they have any. They will usually have 476 and/or 845 at real good prices compared to online if they have them. I use both 476 and 845 on all my customers cars.

Mother's Showtime QD is the only QD I will use.

lol and yeah it does smell like cinnamon. The only place I can get it is O'Reilly's or until I get ready to buy another Mother's claybar kit from anywhere.

I actually paint for a hobby. I've tried everything I could ever get my hands on.
the nufinish and 3m show car wax is hands down the best stuff I've ever used.

here's a picture after 4 years of my belly rubbing on my tank...no marks! this is being protected by 3m show car wax.
http://www.autogeek.net/3mpershowcar.html. that and nufinish are the 2 best I've ever tried.

Liquid Glass. $20 a can, but the wax lasts six months, and shines up really nice.

Re: favorite wax

I've tried all of the above over a decade of experimenting with waxes.

Nothing comes close to Zaino.
