Re: favorite wax

I used the Mother's California Gold® Carnauba Cleaner Wax

I like it:

Carnauba Cleaner Wax is designed to be the one-step plan for paint preservation. Cleaner Wax is formulated to clean and protect in just one application. We use the same Brazilian #1 yellow carnauba that makes our Pure Carnauba Wax so special, and combined it with a light polish that will smooth minor flaws and make your paint snap. Carnauba Cleaner Wax is especially effective on fiberglass and gel coats. Available in long-lasting, easy-to-apply liquid or paste.
#05701, 16 oz. liquid.
#05500, 12 oz. paste.

Re: favorite wax

I just might have to give the mothers carnauba wax a try. The only wax ive ever used on my truck is the Eagle One Nano wax. Seems to work great, a little hard to remove though.

Zaino FTW. However I might give Tropi-Care a try (Tropi-Care Car Care Products, LLC). They seem to be a little cheaper and some swear by their line. Even to the point that it is better than Zaino.

Re: favorite wax

I have tried both Eagle Ones Nano Wax and Mothers Caranuba wax and I would say Mothers wins hands down. Eagle one's does not go on too thick (I love a deep gloss and a lot of wax) and is hard to remove. I still have yet to find anything better!

Wax mine every other time I wash it. I cannot resist that deep shine. I really wonder if there is any differences between Meguiars and Mothers.

Re: favorite wax

There is little variation as far as Carnauba wax goes, they're all pretty much the same. Synthetic wax leaves better shine than Carnauba, but doesn't protect as long.

NXT generation tech wax and Mothers FX SynWax are my favorites because they contain Carnauba as well as synthetic polymers

I never have time to do mine every wash. Besides, I lay the caranuba on so heavy that it lasts even a few washes. Water still beads on the 4th wash! Mostly just was mine because I love to see it shine!

Re: favorite wax

How long does the wax last? I always wash my truck because I like keeping it looking good and I was thinking about waxing, but is it worth it and does it keep some of the crap off of it?

Thanks

I beg to differ on that fact. The synthetic wax might beat commercial, common carnuba waxes but TRUE carnuba wax probably cant be beat.

True carnuba wax usually has such a high concentration it has to be kept in a refrigiarated area and sells for $20+ per 6oz.

I love Zaino but I wouldn't consider it a wax. For wax I like Pinnacle Soveran paste and NXT liquid tech wax.

You can buy No.1 Carnuba flakes online for 6 dollars for 4 oz and carnuba has a melting point of 85* Celsius.

Candle making shops also have pure carnuba wax.

I've found that different vehicles (their paint) respond differently to different waxes.

I used that NXT stuff on my fullsize and leaves a deep rich glossy shine and everything beads and wipes right off, but works like crap on my Blazer. The Blazer has wwell-worn and abused paint that really only looks good when I wax it with this custom stufgf I buy at the hot rod swap meets, it makes the dulled paint look deep & rich. But this stuff doesn't do much on my fullsize or other cars. Every car seems to have it's own wax.

i'm a zaino guy, however if i could get the guy who waxed this z06 to tell me his system i'd have the wettest look of anyone. he incorporates zaino with other polishes, check it out, shinest car i've ever seen...
