Faded paint from emblems,...

I recently took off some of my emblems and plan to remove the side trim soon,... on the emblems, I noticed a faint line where the paint that was exposed was faded and the paint that was covered was the vibrant red it used to be. I just know that if I remove the side trim, that I will have this gawdy fade line all the way down the side of my truck. Is there anything I can do besides repainting (IE- minor buffing or polishing) to resolve this?

thats it? I thought since the paint was faded, it would require more than that.

The paint isn't faded, it just has a bunch of little contaniments that makes it look faded. Do what LikeaRock said and the paint will all match again.

Re: Faded paint from emblems,...

When I had my hood repainted it was a little darker than the side panels and I was a little worried. I also had just shaved my emblems, so there was a little difference there. I went over it all with a clay bar, polish, wax...no more difference and smooth as a baby's butt all around.

...now I just have to get these daggum swirl marks out of my clear coat! It looks nasty on black. urgh!

Use Meg's ScratchX and work it in hard and you may have to do a few applications.

you could also buff it, but i would buff the whole truck to make sure it all matches, i have the same prob with my Hombre, took of the stickers on the tailgate, and doors, still have yet to get it buffed though
