Re: drying....

Just use a towel that's been washed a lot of times. After it's been washed so much it usually soaks up the water better than anything else and won't leave a bunch of fuzz, hair, or anything else. Also, towels like that are usually pretty soft. If you use fabric softener when drying, it'll be that much softer.

Re: drying....

The quickest way to get most water off is to use water to dry the car. Take the nozzle off the hose and turn the pressure down to about 1/2 or less. Then starting at the top, run the stream of water across the body panels as to sheet the water off. Then use a real or synthetic chamois or one of those new waffle microfiber towels to dry the rest up. Some people use a leaf blower but for me, the time it takes to get it out, start it up and put it away is not worth it.

Have you read the "sticky post"?

Also try-
http://crspotless.com/

I have one and absolutely love it.
No spots for real!!! (not like some of the cheap filters)
This is a heavy duty system that really works

Re: drying....

Not microfiber... Too soft to scratch... Friend of a friend drives the Tahoe called tribal vision, he has a 10,000 paint job and that is all he uses.

Re: drying....

The Absorber works, however, I do not feel it is perfectly safe (as do others that detail high end vehicles)
The problem is that if and debris gets caught between the paint and absorber, there is nowhere for it to go, except "swirl city" when drying.

Microfiber dries as well, if not better, depending on style and because most are not "flat", if something gets caught between the towel and paint, they are made in such a way that it is less likely to scratch as the debris will be pulled "into" the towel and not sit on the surface.

Most bath towels can also scratch if they are not high quality (price does not always nean quality), plus they do not absorb water as good a the absorber or a Waffle Weave towel can streak and leaves lint.

A quality Waffle Weave Towel will absorb the water, will not streak, will not leave lint, dries in 1/3 the time after you dry the vehicle and is much safer for your paint.

I also use the CR Spotless filter and like advertised, it is "spotless".
I just run the WW towel over the horizontial surfaces quickly to get the "puddles" of water broken up and allow the vehicle to dry.
No more worries of "pre-mature drying" and leaving mineral deposits on the paint.

Hope this helps

Depends on the size and quality.
You can get them from .50 up to and above $20
Average for a 24x36 towel is about $19 for a quality towel.

Yup. California Water Blade & The Absorber do work but scare the hell out of me. The safest solution that works is a Waffle Weave.

Re: drying....

I agree and currently use the WW towel..., too much of a chance of getting debris caught between the paint and blade or the paint and chamois.

News flash!!
There may be a new weave even better than the WW on the market soon...,
As I said, I do a lot of testing and am in the process of testing this..., so far, so good

One of my last tests was the CR Spotless..., I will no longer wash a vehicle without one, absolutely NO chance of spots!! Amazing and I love that thing (I wish I could buy into it and market it..., but satisfied just using it and having the benifits...

One of my favorite new products

Try the towel Derek is selling for $12.

Once you try them, you will never go back to trying to dry with cotton.
Remember, you will still have drips from the mirrors, doors, etc, etc..., so use an electric leaf blower when possible to get the "drip areas" and puddles, then use the WW towel...

Next time just wash it in the machine like it says, I'm sure any debris will be gone after a trip through the washing machine. Oh yeah and who was it? Ben?
