Re: Detail Buisness

not easy. most detail shops don't last a year. they don't make enough money to stay open. i work in the detail dept. on a body shop. we do 10+ details a day at a minimum of $50 and the detail shop NEVER makes money. the body shop keeps us open. the detail shop losses money almost every week. start out doing it in your spare time for some extra cash. don't jump in head first.

Raise your prices

I charge a minimum of $75 for a wash and wax, unless it's a close friend or family

At the bodyshop I work at the detail department charges 100$ minumum for a basic detail. They go up to 200$ i believe.

Re: Detail Buisness

I was thinking about doing the same thing. My dad wanst to buy me a commercial van with all the goodies for washing and detailing it has the commercial vacums that can wash your carpet and leave a nice smell, and lots of good stuff. But I am still deciding!

well i would stay clear from a van and use a trailer...reason being is because if your "van" breaks down than u cant work....if you have it all in a trailer u can pull it with another vehicle
plus i HATE working out of a van
