Cleaning Xwheels?

I've got some used 00 Xwheels and I was wondering what I can do get rid of of the black specks and such on the unpainted parts? What can I use to polish them to make them shine again? Thanks.

Re: Cleaning Xwheels?

Use regular car wax on them. Stay away from aluminum polish as it will mess up the clear coat on the rims.

I've already got pitting and such and I was wondering what I can use to bring them back. Your saying I should use the carwax after I get them clean to help protect them and keep them clean?

Re: Cleaning Xwheels?

There's not much you can do if they are already pitted other than get them repowdercoated clear. But that is how your supposed to clean the wheels is with car wax.

So using a powerball or such wouldn't help?

Yea it would help in making it go faster but it only takes a few minutes to clean them anyway. Wipe on the wax, let it haze, wipe it off.

The powerball was meant more for polishing wheels like billet wheels that take like an hour to polish by hand.

I've been using Meguirs Gold Wax on my paint, will that work on my wheels? Sorry for all the stupid questions but detailing is definitely my weak point. lol
